What is a childrens centre?
Sure Start Children's Centres are one-stop-shops for children under 5 and their families - a place where lots of different things happen under one roof.
In a children's centre you can:
Children's Centres were set up by the Government. There are about 3,000 around the country and more are being opened.
In Harlow we have 6 centres, open from 8:30am - 4:30pm Monday to Friday - click on 'Where are we' to see where they are. If you live in Harlow then you can visit any of the centres.
The Meadows and Tree House are large buildings and the others are smaller, but you can get information about the full range of services and activities at any centre.

- Learn a new skill
- Get help with problems
- Get information about a huge range of other local services
- Meet other people and make friends
